Don Foster - Bath MP

Fundraising continues and Kick Off gets closer

Busy, busy, busy! This week I have met up with Don Foster, the local MP as well as Matt Banahan and Ryan Caldwell from Bath Rugby Club to discuss and promote the kayaking challenge. Not long now till I start paddling and sponsorship is coming in (although a long, long way to go - both in the kayak and to raise £100,000). Ran the Bideford half marathon last weekend and have the Bath half marathon on Sunday. Meeting in the Gypsy Moth in Greenwich on the evening (7pm) of 31st March (my 33rd birthday!) and heading off from the Ahoy Centre at 10am on Sunday 1st April. Hope to see some of you there! Martin

Kayak Design

Thanks to Leonie at Art and Sea (kayak design company) (http://www.artandsea.co.uk), my kayak is now on its way to be kitted out for the trip. I have decided to use my Nigel Dennis Explorer for the trip and am naming the boat 'John Elliott' after a friend who passed away in 2010...

Moving to Bath....

I have now recently moved to Bath and started my new job as a consultant rheumatologist at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases. Took advantage of the break in the wind yesterday to paddle out to Old Harry Rocks and back. Only 111 days til my challenge starts....

Here is another online article...
